Mission: To create a comprehensive approach to the development and sustainability of the arts community in South Phoenix and Arizona.
The Artists Quarter (The AQ) is a community performing and visual arts program. Providing classes, private lessons, and ensemble opportunities for those in South Phoenix. The Pipeline Performing Arts and Arizona Black align to help serve this purpose. Although we serve the greater Phoenix community, our home is South Phoenix. Programs such as The Artists Health Initiative, The Artists Lofts, and The Artists Coach are designed to ensure artists have access to affordable healthcare and housing as well as guidance in managing personal business as an artist and performer.
This includes resources to help with taxes, marketing, and much more. Recognizing that artists sometimes need a place to try out new material, The Quarter Note accommodates that need. A live entertainment venue for amateur and professional artists providing quality entertainment options for South Phoenix.
The AQ is positioned to be a collaborative entity with other arts resources and organizations in the Valley to support and address the needs of the whole artist.

The Pipeline Performing Arts
Mission: To provide quality arts education and performance opportunities for all ages and skill levels.
The Pipeline Performing Arts is a performing arts education program designed to provide a well-rounded approach to establishing a foundation in music, dance, drama, and the visual arts. This program is created to help each student develop a strong foundation in whichever art they choose.
The Velvet Curtain Theatre Company
Mission: Promoting Women in the Performing Arts
The Velvet Curtain Theatre Company is one of the resident theater companies for The Artists Quarter with a focus on diversity and inclusiveness. A company that highlights the work of minority playwrights with particular emphasis on African American women and women’s issues. The Velvet Curtain works to support women in all aspects of theater not just on stage but also in administration and technical roles.
The Artists Shop
An affordable option for costumes, props, and set pieces for schools and small budget theater companies. The hope is to provide resources for schools who wish to offer arts programming but may not have a budget to do so. The goal is to provide affordable resources so that available funds may be spent on personnel.
The Quarter Note
A bar and grill with a stage to provide another entertainment venue for South Phoenix and to provide opportunities for amateur and professional artists.
Arizona Black
Arizona Black will be the professional performance ensemble providing performance opportunities in classical art forms for Black performers who live in Arizona. Specifically, classical music, opera, and ballet.
